GIS Specialist
Mandek Consulting is hiring a GIS Specialist for an active project focused on mapping and spatial analysis to support infrastructure planning and natural resource management. The GIS Specialist will collect, analyze, and interpret geospatial data to aid decision-making in urban planning, environmental conservation, and disaster risk reduction projects.
Department: Full-Time (Project-Based)
Project Location(s): East Africa (with fieldwork in multiple regions)
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Responsibilities
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Conduct geospatial data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Create detailed GIS maps and spatial models for project planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing geospatial insights and solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy and integration into project reports and deliverables.
Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in GIS, spatial analysis, and cartography.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing technologies.
- Strong data visualization skills and experience in integrating GIS into project planning.
